Kyocera Mobile App: How To Install and Connect

June 16th, 2025

By Cliff Goldsmith

Print from your phone to your Kyocera printer in minutes. This step-by-step guide shows you how to install and set up the Kyocera Mobile Print app on iPhone or Android. Learn how to connect your phone to your printer, enable NFC, handle data collection settings, and troubleshoot connection issues—fast.

Whether your Kyocera printer is connected over Wi-Fi or hardwired to the network, we’ll help you get mobile printing up and running. Plus, we explain how to use the app to print, scan, and copy right from your device.

Step 1: Download the Kyocera Mobile Print App

Grab your phone and head to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).

Search for “Kyocera Mobile Print”—it should be the first result. Go ahead and download it.

Once it installs, open it up. Simple stuff.

Step 2: Enable NFC (If Prompted)

Right when you open the app, it may ask you to turn on NFC. If you’ve never heard of it, no worries.

NFC stands for Near Field Communication—basically, it lets your phone “talk” to the printer when they’re super close together, kind of like tap-to-pay at Starbucks. You might not use it often, but the app wants it on just in case.

Just tap "Yes" and keep going.

Step 3: Data Collection Prompt

Next, you’ll see a screen asking about data collection.

You can:

  • Accept it and continue

  • Decline it and still use the app

  • Or read the full privacy policy if you want to know exactly what’s going on

Nothing tricky here—you’re in control. The app works either way.

Step 4: Connect to Your Printer

Here’s where people hit a wall, but don’t worry—we’ve got you.

You’ve got two ways to connect your phone to your Kyocera printer:

Option 1: Search for Devices Automatically

Tap “Search for Devices” and the app will scan your network for any compatible printers.

Option 2: Enter the IP Address Manually

If it doesn’t find anything, no big deal. Tap “Manual Entry” and type in the printer’s IP address. You can usually find this on the printer’s screen under Settings > Network > IP Address.

🛑 Important: Same Network Required

Here’s the part that trips people up the most:

Your phone and the printer must be on the same network.

It doesn’t matter if the printer is connected through Wi-Fi or plugged into the network with a cable—as long as they’re both on the same network, you're good.

If your phone is on cellular or guest Wi-Fi, it won't work.

Step 5: Print, Scan, and Copy from Your Phone

Once you're connected, you're all set.

From the app, you can:

  • Print documents, photos, emails, or files from cloud storage

  • Scan directly to your phone

  • Even copy using the printer’s functions (if it supports it)

That’s it. You’re now mobile—and a little less chained to your desk.

Quick Troubleshooting Tips

Can’t find your printer? Here’s what to check before tossing your phone across the room:

✅ Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the network
✅ Confirm your phone is on the same Wi-Fi (not cellular or guest)
✅ Try restarting both your phone and printer
✅ Manually enter the printer’s IP address if auto-search fails

Still having issues? It could be that your printer model isn’t supported.
